Order of Open Air Fire

Salutation

I am pleased to notify all people who lead a decent life and take pleasure in cooking, frying, broiling, stewing in kettle, cauldron, braising, roasting, grilling on fire or live coal, that by the grace of God and in my own free will, on the 1th of July, in the year of Our Lord 2008, I establish the universal

The Order of Knighthood of the Openairfire

Our Order will be united in faith and love, and will be determined to encourage all men, women, children and elderly people to prepare fine food and good beverages under the open sky.

I look particularly graciously upon those who perform their activities with the help of live fire or glowing embers and in the company of other people. I forward my hearty encouragement to them.

The Abbreviated Name of the Order is therefore:

Order of Outdoor Fires.

All people in every part of the world who think about cooking outdoors and all related activities with affection, who are benevolant and respectful to other people, who approach all ingerdients and raw meterials needed for cooking with due care and attention, and who accept and honour the Articles of the Order are worthy of membership in the Order.

Worthiness is presupposed from candidates for membership in the Order and is expected from its established members.

We reject and persecute all intentions and endeavours that include the use of unnecessary chemicals and materials treated or processed in any way other than natural. In the course of the preparation of food and during meals we accept the duly moderate consumption of beverages that are good for the body and for the soul.

Should your fire never cease burning!

All New Members are Received into the Order by the Grand Master.

The process of receiving new members (presupposing their worthiness) is automatic, so the applicant will be regarded as a member of the Order for a period of one year.

In exchange for the fee duly paid in, we send you an apron or cap decorated with the coat of arms of the Order.

Members retain their membership by confirming their intention annually and paying in the membership fee for the forthcoming year. On these occasions members receive a new cap, with their names and titles on it. The colour of the sun shield of the cap varies according to title.

The purpose of this is making people interested in practising this pleasant, agreeable activity.

Registered members are therefore expected to upload–possibly multilingual–descriptions of their best recipes, illustrated with images or video footages to the website of the Order, thus creating the

Every member of the Order, but especially the officers, is expected to regularly contribute to the online cookbook.
